Van Cleef & Arpels Madison Avenue Boutique – Historic Landmark Transformation
Jon Wickers Co Inc executed a comprehensive building transformation at 690 Madison Avenue, the historic landmark townhouse at the corner of 62nd Street that now houses Van Cleef & Arpels’ third New York City boutique. This prestigious project prepared the five-level building to showcase one of the world’s premier high jewelry maisons in Manhattan’s Upper East Side luxury retail corridor.
Our scope of work included a complete roofing system replacement with the installation of a custom rooftop deck engineered to accommodate private client events and exclusive gatherings. Working in close coordination with HVAC contractors, Wickers facilitated critical mechanical infrastructure upgrades essential to the building’s multi-level climate control requirements for displaying priceless jewelry collections.
The project required extensive exterior masonry rehabilitation executed in full compliance with New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission standards. Our team successfully transformed the building’s facade through meticulous repointing and the historically sensitive modification of exterior brick masonry color, enhancing the aesthetic identity of this corner landmark while maintaining its architectural integrity.
This project exemplifies JW Construction’s capability to manage complex, high-stakes renovations where landmark compliance, multi-trade coordination, and uncompromising quality standards must align to serve ultra-luxury retail clients.
